Welcome to my story
I opened my therapy practice in 2021 with the goal of taking the skills I had learned during my years in the field to a new population. I worked with survivors of human trafficking and intimate partner violence for years. I then went into working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders. I am a Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional and am an EMDR trained therapist.
After, working for large online therapy practices I felt I could improve the experience for my clients. I opened my practice so that I could help reach people without the headache of other therapy platforms. I am excited to get to meet you and learn more about your goals!

ABOUT ME
Why did I choose to become a therapist?
After going through therapy myself to cope with childhood parental loss, I became interested in helping others navigate their life. I found it empowering to realize how much changed that when I viewed things differently I felt differently!
I wanted to help others see that they have agency over the way they interpret experiences. Even, if you cannot control what happens to you, you can choose how you respond to it.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I am an avid runner and love to run half marathons and marathons. I enjoy traveling to new places and learning about different cultures.
I love trying new food and baking new recipes. I am a lover of fantasy books, film, and television. I also love spending time with my family including my cat (Simon) and dog (Panda).
What is my therapeutic personality or style?
I take the therapeutic approach of warmth and understanding first and have unconditional positive regard for my clients. I believe in empathy as the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship.
Once goals are established I utilize a variety of approaches including CBT, EMDR, DBT, and TRM to aid a client in making necessary changes and achieve symptom relief.
What special populations have you worked with?
I worked as a clinical case manager with LGBTQ+ asylum seekers for years and am passionate about advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.
The vast majority of my career has been spent working with individuals who have survived intense trauma ranging from human trafficking, assault, incarceration, abuse, and parental loss.
I have a masters in forensic psychology, which is the overlap of law and mental health. Due to my educational background I worked with previously incarcerated individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
